Our husband and wife founding team started TheraSpecs as a way to help alleviate the light sensitivity and migraine they both lived with most of their lives. From that personal search for relief, they built a company that today gives freedom from light sensitivity to thousands of people every year.What makes our product unique?

Blue light can cause pain and other symptoms
Artificial, bright light can be a major source of pain for our eyes and brain. In fact, clinical research shows that specific wavelengths of blue light (480-520nm) can trigger or worsen conditions like migraine and post-concussion syndrome, and people with epilepsy or seizure disorders, fibromyalgia and autism also report similar consequences. Even those without a light-sensitive disorder can develop headaches, eye strain, dizziness and other symptoms as a result of exposure to fluorescents or computer and device screens.
TheraSpecs filter the most harmful light
TheraSpecs indoor lenses are precision tinted (using research-backed FL-41 tint) to block 80% of the most problematic of these wavelengths, offering relief for your light sensitivity no matter the cause and protecting you from the pain and other symptoms brought on by light. By blocking up to 25 times more blue light than other typical blue light glasses, TheraSpecs can provide better protection and more relief. Our lenses also reduce the harmful effects of the invisible pulsing hidden in fluorescent and LED light sources. This means you get to spend more time doing the things you love to do, rather than hiding behind dark sunglasses or in a dark room.
Better than wearing sunglasses indoors
It's not a good idea to wear sunglasses indoors for extended periods of time because it risks increasing your light sensitivity. Indoor TheraSpecs filter the harmful wavelengths so they do not have to be as dark as sunglasses in order to be effective. When wearing TheraSpecs in social situations, others can see your eyesâwhich minimizes isolation.
